Vitamins for Chronic Dry Eyes?

Hi! I%26#039;m a 41 year old female, recently diagnosed with Chronic Dry eyes, according to my eye doctor, have a mild case. I%26#039;ve been reading alot about dry eyes online and have a few questions.

From what I read, chronic dry eyes can be caused by age, vitamin defficiency, menopause, prolonged computer use, allergies and other medical conditions. I%26#039;m in good health but eat a terrible diet - junk food, fast food, no vegetables. I have bad allergies, am a writer so I stare at a computer screen for hours at a time and I%26#039;m in peri-menopause.

I was wondering if changing my diet and taking supplements like Vitamin A or Omega 3 or even %26quot;eye vitamins%26quot; would halt or even reverse this condition.

Also, do allergies cause chronic dry eyes or just make an existing situation worse?

I am able currently able to wear a contact but should I consider puctual plugs now or wait to see if the condition worsens.

Thanks for your help!|||What kind of contacts do you currently wear? You should definitely talk to your doctor about punctal plugs or trying a drop called Restasis. It helps your body produce more tears. Unfortunately it takes a couple of months to notice a difference but it works. Allergies can make your dry eye symptoms worse as well. There is a vitamin you can look into - its called Ocuvite - you should be able to find it in any drugstore or wal-mart. But dry eyes is so common at your age with hormone changes. Do you use any drops while on computer?|||Here%26#039;s a great article about omega-3%26#039;s and dry eye:

http://www.theratears.com/nutrition-in-d鈥?/a>

As far as allergies and dry eye, my understanding is that it%26#039;s the treatments (ie, anithistamines) that can exacerbate dry eyes. Also, allergies can make contact lens wear difficult, but some people find that use of daily disposables helps to solve this.

Also, you may want to read this about dry eye and menopause:

http://www.allaboutvision.com/over40/dry鈥?/a>|||I didn%26#039;t have a huge problem but I got silicone ( permanent plugs) placed and rarely need to use artificial tears. I do think that vitamins that contain lutein are always good and now there is another type of vitamin called Biotears that supposably help, ( I have not used them but several patients have bought them and most are complaining less and less of dry eye. it helps rehydrate all sebaceous glands as well from what I hear) Maybe you can try them if you haven%26#039;t already. Age and everything you listed are contributing to dry eye although I don%26#039;t think your eyes would be greatly better if you stopped using computer of changed to a healthy diet , some of us just have this darn problem.

Does any kind of drug exist, legal or illegal, that doesn't have a negative physical or psychological affect?

If the circumstances of your life are negative and injurious to your psychological well being but you can not, as a fact, not as a perception, remove yourself from the situation - does a drug exist that can either numb you or help you to endure, that is not physically or psychologically damaging or addictive over the course of long term use? Prayer doesn%26#039;t work and there is no possiblity of a change in circumstances. Finally, if such a drug does not exist why has it not been developed and the necessary funds invested in its research and development?|||What?|||everything has some effect...even eggs................

They have some happy pills that take the edge off.see the doc........|||All prescription and non prescripton drugs have side affects and they can be major. Illegal drugs can be helpful somewhat. Smoking a little pot, isn%26#039;t going to kill you. But most of the other illegal drugs are pretty bad. Why nothing else is available is upsetting, but the FDA is making money

so, apparently that is their biggest concern.|||It does not, and never will exist. No amount of development, research, or investment will give you this magic pill. Wake up, and try living in the real world. Seriously.

Now, if you%26#039;re willing to actually TALK about your circumstances, there are plenty of wonderful, knowledgeable people on this site that can give you some useful feedback.|||all drugs have side-effects but no always occur. If the circumstances of your life are negative and injurious to your psychological well being.....remove yourself from the situation....the best option is to try to change the surrounding so that the person will be less affected (psychologically) by the circumstances around him or her. NO such drug will exist because where would the money to pay for the research and development come from?|||no if it did not then it would not be classified as a drug it would be something else

Prayer doesn%26#039;t work and there is no possiblity of a change in circumstances. Finally, if such a drug does not exist why has it not been developed and the necessary funds invested in its research and development?|||I think anything in life can be both positive and negative, even water. It depends on how we use things. What matters is whether the positive effects or benefits are far greater than the negative effects. So while we may not have the drug you describe, we do have very effective drugs for all kinds of situations. For example, medical marijuana has very beneficial effects in contributing to an overall sense of well being and can be taken in pill form with minimal side effects.|||%26quot;negative%26quot; is a subjective word.

Most drugs can be positive or negative, depending on how they%26#039;re used. If you%26#039;re using any drug to escape %26quot;negative circumstances%26quot;, then it%26#039;s likely the drug will have %26quot;negative%26quot; effects.|||Ecstasy would probably work well maybe once a week, not too often tho. Its been researched as a remedy for post tramatic stress disorder|||There are many drugs that will address exactly the conditions you described..Which one is right for all the conditions you pose,is a process or elimination.. Just because your conditions have not been addressed by whatever medications you have taken,,does not equate none exists..Most conditions are addressed by trIal and error..Sometimes remedies are not so black and white, or clearly definable..Patience is the virtue which must be practiced, and adhered to.. Some medications ARE addictive and damaging over the long run,,that is why after continued usage, an alternative will be used for a prescribed time, to %26#039;freshen%26#039; the patient with different medicines.. Then after a time, the former medicines are reintroduced,,and so forth..Prayer is faith based ,and not to be confused with medical treatment.. I would suggest you keep an open mind and be persistent in your quest for a medicine or medicines ,to treat the disorders of which you speak!! Every day new medications come on line and perform better than old ones, and address issues that formerly could not be addressed, or only partially treated..A month from now new treatments may be available to greatly improve or remedy the conditions you state.. Remember, there are diseases out there today, that we have NO treatment for ,,so ANY treatment working towards a cure or containment is always a plus!! Live your life in Hope, because there is hope!!

Isn't it ironic that countries that supplied Iran with the ability to enrich uranium are changing their tune?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Shah-n鈥?/a>

Along with the U.S., China, Russia, France, and Germany supplied Iran with their nuclear power plants and the ability to enrich uranium. Should we just blame Iran for their goal of obtaining the %26quot;bomb%26quot;, when it is the greed of these other nations which made it possible in the first place? Now, these countries are changing their tune (after they took Iran%26#039;s money).

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091127/ap_o鈥?/a>

I say they are hypocrites one and all. I also hope that no one is naive enough to believe that these countries hadn%26#039;t foreseen the situation as exists in Iran today. What do you think?|||I always blame western countries for the current situation in iran. totally agree with everything you say.|||Yes but the irony escapes the hypocrites. They will all make the same mistake in some other country, That is what happens when one country tries to control another country by installing puppets. They also ignore their own advice they give to others.|||they need an excuse to invade iran, that%26#039;s why they supplied it, just like they did in iraq, Israel can%26#039;t fight alone...|||I think a lot of those Guys can recite the bible too. They know what their part will be and what they are to do now.|||Isn%26#039;t it ironic that Israel will once again be at war..with it%26#039;s neighbours?|||yes.|||although i am not surprised these other countries are involved, i am very surprised the US is starting to behave in this manner. i have always had a good impression of america and i am an american citizen myself, but i think it was wrong for them to supply any resources necessary for building nuclear weapons. i would say let us be patient and see where this goes, but israel needs to bomb iran%26#039;s nuclear facilities and needs to do that fast. israel is not a very liked country, especially among totalitarian and socialist states, so it should avoid getting into confrontations with too many opponents since it is very small.

If there was physical proof that God exists, would that change your beliefs or not?

Let%26#039;s not get all uppity about what I%26#039;m about to say about religion: It%26#039;s obviously based more on faith than on quantifiable proof. But for those of you who might be agnostic or atheist or of different beliefs, here%26#039;s a situation I pose to you.

Let%26#039;s say that there was somehow actual, physical proof that God exists %26amp; that he is the reason for the creation of life %26amp; our universe. How would that change your beliefs? Would it strengthen your religious beliefs? Or would you ignore this and go on with your life?|||First off I am not an Atheist, I%26#039;m Catholic, but in regards to your question they would probably question every aspect of God, since that is what science is all about. Personally I don%26#039;t need science to state evidence for or against my God since it would not strengthen or weaken my faith. This is my reason for God%26#039;s non-provable existence (you don%26#039;t have to agree with me). Given your example let%26#039;s say there is strong evidence for a God in the cosmos. Unless we could totally understand this God figure there will be room for different interpretations and misunderstandings that would probably lead to undesired consequences. Look at today%26#039;s view of God. There exist many interpretations of God in many religious and non-religious groups (Islam, Catholicism, Protestantism, Judaism, Atheism, etc). History has shown that these different interpretations have lead to violence, war, etc. As you can see slight interpretation usually leads to conflicts among humans. In order for people to have stronger beliefs in God, this physical proof would have to be something so apparent that all humans could comprehend it (something simple like the Sun is the bright object in the sky). So in regards to your question it would really depend on how visible this proof was and what possibility of misinterpretations exists.|||It would change my beliefs, but depending on the evidence I would likely remain uncertain as to which god it was, and therefore which, if any, religion is right.|||There is phsycal proof for believers|||Of course it would.

But there is none ... is there? There is zero evidence for god.|||Luke 16:31; %26#039;He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”|||I%26#039;m and athiest, but not stupid. Of course I would chanage my mind in the face of compelling evidence.|||But the existing proof shows that can and never will happen!!

Academia states that in the absence of proof of the existence of something it must be deemed not to exist until verifiable proof is found - thus god is held not to exist pending some sort of verifiable evidence.

There is not one single mention of Jesus in the entire Roman record - that is right - not one!!! At the same time as he was supposed to have been around there were a number of Jews claiming to be the messiah - all of whom are well recorded!!

There is not a single contemporary record from any source and even the bible mentions of him like all other references were not written until many years after his supposed death!!

He was supposed to have been a huge problem to the Romans and produced wonderful miracles but still not one contemporary record?

Even the bible mentions of him like all other references were not written until many years after his supposed death!!

Pilate is recorded in the Roman record as a somewhat lack luster man but no mention of a Jesus, a trial or crucifixion that would surely have been used to make him look brighter!!

At best he was an amalgam of those others!!

The Roman Emperor Constantine produced the bible and he was a pagan not god!!! He also organized Christianity into the Holly Roman Catholic Church!! Not in Israel or any of the countries of supposed origin but entirely ITALIAN!!

Not one word of it is contemporary with the period and was not written until several hundred years after the period the story is set in!! How did the apostles write their books more than a hundred years after they would have been dead?

What a wonder full disinformation and deception campaign he waged against his Christian enemies - so good in fact that Christians are still following the deception to this day!!!

The first person to provide a shred of verifiable evidence for God will become world famous and mega rich!! Ain%26#039;t happened yet and it never will!!

How a company can defeat this biggest challenge of consumer market?

As all of you know that when a company is going to launch any new product or any company is going to make some changes in their existing product then they look for the segment, and we call it segmentation and then targeting their real customer for them that particular product or service is going to be more useful than others.in this stage how a company can grab a number of segment because it is a stage where a company has to compromise with their profit if they think from the point of you one segment they are going to loose another one.we can clear it by one example.suppose there is two brand one is related of high society class or we can say it comes under rich brand or costlier anything we can use.and another one is whom low income people like most.what happens generally if any company which is making a brand which comes under high class(costlier)product if the same company starts to make a product which is available in moderate price and affordable by low income customers, even after it the segment of lower income people will have in their mind that it is not affordable by them.an on the other hand vice versa of its true suppose that low or medium level brand launch a product of superior quality but high society people will not accept it because in their mind it is still a low brand and how can they make a good brand for them such type of mentality stop them to use that product or service which is actually for them.so in this scenario of customer attitude,it is too difficult for any company to cover all the segments. In the study of same i am trying to find out some solutions which can make this situation better than this,so i welcome of your suggestions.

|||Companies that have been successful at introducing two brands targeted at two different market segments (as per your example, a luxury brand and a commodity brand), typically create separate brand identities.

For example, Toyota has its Toyota branded vehicles (efficient, relatively economical, environmentally friendly). Toyota also has a luxury brand: Lexus. Customers understand the differences between the two brands. Another example: Honda brand, and its luxury line: Acura.

The marketing of a luxury and a commodity brand needs to be quite different and specific to each target customer.

Hope this helps. |||http://prachi-desai-is-blue-01.blogspot.com/

http://infection-in-the-air0513.blogspot.com/|||These thing are well known by the companies, so they never target one brand under such a huge differentiation in the segmentation. they have to create the two different identities for the brands and they deliver it to the public with two different messages. Even if they have the same name products may be define as x-economical, x-premium, x-low and so on.......

What does 'marquee real estate' mean in:?

These recommendations covered a broad spectrum. Some consisted of a slight tweak in the existing situation like %26quot;Change marquee real estate%26#039; to 80% educational and 20% marketing%26quot;; while others needed more commitment like %26quot;relocate entrance lobby map%26quot;.|||it is listed here as a reference for changing something
