Is this planet doomed to be destroyed?

Given the current environmental situation that will probably lead to major changes in humanities ability to exist, and the fact that the US government must be a leader in causing a solution to this problem (both financially and morally), and the fact that there is no way the United States could pay for the required resources needed to change the situation (due to the national and public debt). Is there anyway we can be saved?
Is this planet doomed to be destroyed?
Let's cut the bs and start acting like each one of us is also responsible for what is happening.

It's not all the governments fault, we must do our share - all of us feed, allow and affect the past, present and future direction of these societies and this planet, in different levels and degrees. Complicated times like this one (economically and environmentally) gives us the chance for a real change - we have to abandone these obsolete paradigms that prove to not work and fight for better ones.

Ultimatelly the planet won't be destroyed, the planet is far much more than humans. Life will find a way if we don't find ours.
Is this planet doomed to be destroyed?
People will die but the planet will survive for another 4B years when it's consumed by the expanding sun.
With humans on it? Most definitely!

Earth is doomed!
yes.. we are all going to be destroyed when the earth is hit with an asteroid..
%26gt;%26quot;Is there anyway we can be saved?%26quot;

No.
Not to mention that I think the US is vulnerable to attacks now from the middle east. It is like playing Command and Conquer against a team running out of money. Unfortunately I think a global economy (world order) is the only solution but that is a scary thought.
of course - in about 5 billion years time when the sun expands and melts the Earth
Yeah. In about 5 billion years our sun is going to go nova. That's pretty much guaranteed to destroy the planet.
Wow.

You really think that our economic problems mean that the Earth is %26quot;doomed%26quot;??

Bit of an exaggeration, don't you think???

The world does not revolve around your 401k.
It can be saved, just leave it up to the scientists, there are so many technologies ready to go, for example ocean fertilisation which will grow huge amounts of phyto-plankton and sink massive amounts of carbon from the atmosphere..don't despair there are many ways..
The way we are mistreating this planet, we don't deserve it. We had clean water, clean air and clean soil, and the mental capacity to work together, yet we destroy everything we touch.
Too many people, far less than needed intelligence, greedy business men, demented, power hungry politicians = a planet doomed to destruction.
The Earth is going to be destroyed, sooner or later. By then, we will all (at least those alive today) be dead.

We must stop global warming before it's too late!
This planet survived long before money and trade, and it will go on surviving long after it becomes obsolete.
The earth warming up a few degrees is the least of our problems.how about enough bombs to heat things up by thousands of degrees in a millisecond. That is why I think that being distracted by this environmental thing is so dumb. Keeping a terror state like Iran in check is much more pressing.

The U.S . is not the major polluter anyway. China is.Why is it when things go wrong in the world they blame the U.S.. And when things go wrong in the world they blame the U.S. for not fixing it. We are just a small part of this global community.

Anyway, all this is just not important. Read what happens to this world in revelations and Ezekiel 38,39 chapters.
There is a history book written that say's yes the planet will be destroyed, and then rebuilt. It's called the book of Revelations.

One of the first sure signs of the beginning of the end will be a world leader that will bring all the counties together as one, and he will promise peace, he will make a 7 year peace treaty with Israel and then break it in about 3 years, he will be a great lier, with a very smooth tongue, he will also start many wars, martyr many christians and eventually declare himself god.

There will also be a world wide earthquake that will flatten everything including mountains.

All these things and much more will happen. As hard as it is to believe it will be part of Gods plan to show the last lost souls that He is real and that Jesus is the only way to God before it is too late for them. In the midst of these terrible things, there will be 144,000 converts to Christianity that will start a world wide revival.

Of course this is a very brief summary but you get the idea.

God bless%26lt;%26gt;%26lt;

Earth isn't doomed nor likely to be destroyed for ages. However, it's quite possible the USA, and indeed all the other countries of the world, could be morally destroyed, financially destroyed, or environmentally destroyed by human action.

It kind of depends on what we want for the future. If we are happy to accept our offspring's ability to fend for themselves and build a new society from the ashes of the 21st century, we basically need to do nothing, just carry on as we are.

But it we want our descendants to benefit from the civilisation, the industry and technology our world has developed over the past 200 years, we all need to do some serious thinking about where we are going.

Humanity is doomed... not just because of the financial crisis. The economy, the environment, strained international relations, etc. etc. etc. -- it's a perfect storm. I've been predicting the downfall of humanity (or at least much of human civilization) for years now... I can't say for sure when it will happen, but one thing is for sure -- that it WILL happen. Will it destroy the entire planet? Probably not. As others have noted, the planet will inevitably be destroyed anyway, but not until we are long gone.

Now, all that being said, I should note that I probably won't be dying off with the rest of you. Nothing against any of you -- I'm sure you're all fine people and all -- but there's just too many damn people on this planet, and too few resources. Government has failed us, the corporations have failed us, religion has failed us -- at this point, there is very little that anyone can do to prevent our inevitable collapse. That is why I do not intend to do anything about it. Sure, we can vote for the leaders that we think will do the best job of prolonging our ultimate demise, but in the end, even the best and brightest will be unable to save us.

So, best of luck to all of you. Before you all go, though, be sure to leave your car keys near your cars where I can find them... and if you leave your homes unlocked, it will save me the trouble of having to break a window to get in and take your stuff. Also, it would be great if one of you could rig up your homes to run on its own independent power source (like solar panels, or a windmill) so that I have a warm and well-lit place to stay when all the power plants go dark. Thanks in advance.

Oh, and by the way -- should any attractive young women happen to survive the oncoming calamity as well, I would be happy to let you accompany me as I acquire the supplies necessary to survive whatever nuclear holocaust / plague / global flooding / ice age should come to pass. Together, we could attempt to repopulate the world and perhaps start over anew. Just a suggestion.

I mean, hey, if you don't think you need my help, that's fine by me as well... I'm perfectly content as a loner. But I know how most of you humans are -- you have a need to be with other human beings, almost as though it were essential to your survival. In the end, I'm sure you'll decide to accompany me (it would really be in your best interests, trust me). You don't have to like me, and at first, you probably won't... I can be rude, selfish, independent, arrogant, and abrasive at times... but in time, you will learn that it is these very traits that will enable my survival, and you will be grateful for it.

Sorry, did I wander off topic a bit there? Oh, yes... ahem... ummm, in summation, yes, the planet is doomed to be destroyed, humanity is doomed to fail, and no, there is no way we can be saved... let me rephrase that; there is no way YOU can be saved... you, as in, %26quot;you all%26quot;. But don't worry, death is in itself a new beginning, a journey which we all must take eventually. Most of you will just be starting that journey a little earlier, that's all. My place is here. It always has been, and it will be until I die of natural causes at a ripe old age. Maybe some of you will also be %26quot;chosen ones%26quot; whose lives are spared as well -- though many of you may wish you weren't. Life in the post-apocalypse is not going to be fun and games. You have to be prepared for stuff like that.

I am. Are you?
Yes, one day the planet will no longer exist:

Isaiah 65:17:

Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.

You are leaving God out of the picture. Here are a couple of scriptures that show the earth will be here forever.

(Psalm 37:29) The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it.

(Psalm 104:5) He has founded the earth upon its established places; It will not be made to totter to time indefinite, or forever.
ANY MINUTE NOW
Ultimately earth will be destroyed. If not by war or something internal, there are numerous asteroids and in five billion years the sun will likely become a red giant. Life on earth will be destroyed before that time.
Jesus can save you.
What a load of bilge. There is no environmental situation which could conceivably threaten human existence. Maybe you've been watching too much TV news.
