Would you help me to correct my ENGLISH essay in the respects of grammar, the accuracy of vocabulary, coherence, logistic and so on?
The topic is: People should learn history in order to solve present problems. Do you agree or disagree? No less than 250 words
My essay is:
It is a general acknowledge that history is a precious present that modern generations inherit from their ancients. However, since people are facing increasingly critical situations such as the scarcity of land resource as well as the explosion of population, from my own perspective, I believe that seeking for solutions from historical experience is pointless.
In the first place, not all historical experience is correct. Instead, due to the insufficient knowledge and unsophisticated tools, the way ancient humans struggled with tricky problems was some kind of awkward, or even can be totally wrong. In the second place, even if the knowledge of previous generations is reasonable, it may no longer be feasible in terms of contemporary society. Such as the old style of constructions or the traditional strategy of education are all unjustified and out of date for the current human lifestyle. In the third place, if people always obey and regard the historical path to understand and handle present challenges, there would be no more innovations and the progress of development would cease. Imagine that, if Columbus followed the sailing line of former pioneers, it would be impossible for him to discover the American land.
Admittedly, studying historic events may take advantage to present generations in certain aspects. For instance, in view of the current financial crises, we can obtain valuable data and information by learning from previous cases. However, with the constant change of the international business atmosphere, the historical experience can be considered as a mere reference, rather than as a magic weapon for overwhelming this crisis.
To sum up, as changing is an inevitable fact, it is inappropriate that modern people relying on history to tackle with current issues. People should spare no effort to adopt existing methods and pursue new methodology for overcoming the obstacles they encountered at this moment and in the future.|||It is general acknowledge that history is a precious present that modern generations inherit from their predecessors.
