Does this person has a narcissistic personality disorder?

Hello,

I am probably not the most objective person but would like to determine according to things I observed throughout the years if a person I used to know could be linked to an existing mental condition.

Here is my list below. These elements are pretty random and trivial and the whole probably sound especially senseless but .. I am no psychiatrist! Help!

- Unable to receive any kind of criticism

- Unable to deal with failure

- Very lunatic especially under pressure - could trigger unjustified (because overly violent) rage

- When facing a situation where he has to listen, tends to redirect the attention towards him (favorite trick : telling other people's stories as if they were not in the audience)

- Is excessively %26quot;attached%26quot; to his family that treats him as if he was 4 years old (which he likes)

- Becomes awkwardly open and social with any person who takes interest in him

- Cannot deal with someone not liking him

- Violently afraid of being ridiculous

- Doesn't have defined friends or interests - just an awful lot of vague pals and a very large range of interests he cannot manage to focus on

- Has numerous whipping-people he gossips and bitches about profusely but never actually confronts them

- Is incapable of being genuinely sorry for someone who is in an awkward situation (example : will laugh hysterically for hours because you fainted on the floor your head two inches from the running train)

- Has issues regarding self hygiene

- Doesnt like change or new experiences that yank him out of his comfort zone (from food to travel ..)

- No ability to listen, give advice, or analyze a situation that doesn't involve him

So many other things ..!

Thank you !

It is very dangerous to attempt to diagnose someone when you do not have the credentials to do so. I would strongly advise against it.

narcissistic personality has been defined very well. Your way of observations and expressions are very good.

It is subjective and descriptive as well.

He is a self praise and self styled leader

He is role model of many characters we try to avoid occasionally

but no way but to bear and face with it.
